HOW SCAMMERS FAKE 500 GB Hard Disk As 1TB or 2TB Hard Disk  

Do you really know how to check the hard drive of a computer before you buy it ?

Readers of this article should know that, the content of this instructions is not to promote criminality in the industry of IT but to create a security alert for people most especially online buyers to be careful when buying computers from unknown people. Many people have been victimized of this SCAM and we see the need to publish how possible it is and how to handle an anticipating or suspicious 500 GB Hard Disk As 1TB or 2TB Hard Disk .   Our research reveals that the hard component of the machine is the main thing but the software can be hacked and changed its information in every area of the computer. It is therefore my wish that every buyer of laptops from the internet such as Tonaton or OLX Ghana would use the solution here on this blog as guide to secure their transactions.

NB: Microsoft  allows for virtual Technology in it’s operating system such as windows 7, 8, 10 and other version, with this hackers or scammers play on the ignorance of many people ending up in victimizing them in the face of online transaction or Tonaton or OLx transactions. This article is to reduce the ignorance of this vulnerability in the windows operating system. 

The steps involved shall be written and displayed in images to project the possibility or the truth of the warning being sent to Ghanaian on cyber crime.  

1.       Know the size of the installed Hard drive before you can double or triple it in windows, actually windows 7 or windows 8 operating system allows virtual hard disk to created even to the space of 2TB but should be equal or lesser than installed disk in the machine being faked.

2.       Invoke the command prompt by pressing Windows key + r from your keyboard

3.       Type cmd in the RUN field

4.       On the black screen type : diskpart

5.       Type : create vdisk file =C:\mydrive.vhd  maximum=500000  type=expandable

6.       Press Enter from the key board

7.       Now Go to Start, right click on computer , select manage

8.       Click of disk management

9.       Select the bigger drive you want to mirror e.g C:

10.   Right click on the drive C: and select attach VHD

11.   Browse for the create mydrive.vhd from the C:

12.   On the down pane of the disk management window, right click of the attached drive

13.   Select initialize and choose table partition rather than master record

14.   Now the mydrive is attached to the machine but it will go back to it’s original state which will create awareness to the buyer, the next thing to do is to ensure that the attach drive is automatically attached to the machine anytime the user logs into the machine

15.   Open notepad and type: select vdisk file=”C:\mydrive.vhd”

16.   Type: “  attach vdisk “ without the quotes on the next line in the notepad

17.   Save the file as “mydrive.txt “ without the quotes

18.   Open another notepad file and type :  diskpart.exe / S  “C:\mydrive.txt” with the quotes

19.   Save the file as “mydrive.bat “ which is executable

20.   Create shortcut of the mydrive.bat file

21.   Right click on the file and select properties, select minimized window option

22.   Press the Windows key + R again for the run field

23.   Type: Shell: startup and enter from the keyboard

24.   Drag and drop the shortcut .bat file into the startup window and close it

25.   Restart the machine and you release the hard drive you created remains as though it is a genuine drive
